Disposition of Applications and Documentation

Initially, all completed files will be stored at the Historical Society. It is anticipated that all files will eventually be archived on site at the Gustave Koerner House which will serve as an interpretive and educational facility.

The files will be microfilmed when quantities are sufficient to justify the cost. This microfilm will become part of the Genealogical Society collection at the Belleville Public Library.

The Historical Society or the Genealogical Society may publish lists of veterans for whom a certificate has been awarded, articles related to a particular veteran’s story and/or his descendants (excluding vital statistics on living persons), or a synopsis of the documents, in their publications.
