Notes: Original security microfilm damaged prior to duplication. Radom was established as a Polish community. St. Michael's was attended by the priest from Sacred Heart in DuQuoin until 1874. Polish Franciscan friars served the church 1887 – 1914 when diocesan priests returned.

Notes: Original security microfilm damaged. Sparta was settled in the 1850s by Catholics from Kaskaskia and Ste. Genevieve. The first priest - 1870s. The mission parish was served by Fr. Jansen 1895 – 1897 and then became a mission of St. Mary, East St. Louis (roll 35 this series). First resident pastor 1897. See also St. Mary - Chester (roll 84), St. John - Red Bud (roll 128), and Ss. Peter and Paul - Waterloo (roll 145) for possible prior records.

A mission of St. Liborius, St. Libory (roll 132 this series) and then St. Anthony (roll 105), then St. Bruno at Pinckneyville (roll 125). First resident pastor 1896. Originally an Irish settlement, later German and Polish families moved to the area.

Notes: Registers dating back to 1860s are for St. Francis at Harrisonville which was located 3 miles from Valmeyer and served by Franciscan friars of St. Louis for about 20 years. Look also to surrounding parishes for records after this period until Seven Dolors was established. Area settled by 1803 and visited by French and Irish missionaries. Families attended Mass in Madonnaville (roll 105 this series) in the 1840s.
